o 10 to 12 years of Backup Tool Administration, troubleshooting experience, preferably in a remote management center/data center of a large enterprise
o Technically strong in Data Protector technology
o Good hands on experience on troubleshooting Backup issues
Required Skills, Knowledge and characteristics :
o Very Good understanding on OS ( Windows & Unix )
o Advanced hands on troubleshooting exposure on enterprise Storage & Backup products /tools (VLS, D2D, Tape Libraries) & SAN Switches (Cisco/Brocade).
o Knowledge in scripting Perl/shell & any others,
o Knowledge on ITIL Process (Configuration Management, Problem Management , Release Management, Capacity Management, SLA Management & Customer management).
o Excellent Communication skills and Email/Phone Etiquettes,
o Excellent understanding of ITSM\ITIL processes, preferably ITIL foundation certified
o Own & Mentor Completion of at least 2 CIP's in a year (one in each H1 & H2)
o Should demonstrate increased breadth and depth of knowledge compared to the majority of Specialists.
o Possess strong skills in related technologies and new emerging/upcoming technologies.
o Ability to have good understanding of System Architecture concepts
o Act as First Point of Customer's Technical Escalation and participate in all SEV1/SEV2 calls
o Advanced trouble shooting skis and identify the severity of the issue, Ability to Resolving issues quickly to account/customer satisfaction. Prepare RCA
o Review Incident reports and RCA reports
o Participate in service delivery reviews and help identify close potential issues
o Enhance team competence through Tech Talks
o Propagate best-practices across teams and deliveries
o Proactively manage technical issues and ensure implementation of corrective action
o Ensure service improvements are driven in the SDU through Problem Management & Continuous improvement
o Expertise in problem solving, installation, Configuration. Performance Optimization and Backup administration.
o Experience of working in international business environment and large environments
o Experience in handling escalated Issues and high Level visibility issues
o Solving complicated Hardware cases and Liaising with HPRC/Symantec support
o Communicating abilities with end users, Accounts and onsite teams, Handling Escalation calls,
o Ability to work in shifts, 24x7 support environment. Monitoring tools preferably HPSM.
o Capable of identifying and owning high priority/severity issues and resolve them along with related support functions and vendors
Relevant technical Certification:
o Certification in Data Protector Backup Administration
