Adhata Trust was formed by Mr. Arun Nanda, as his first social initiative for the welfare of senior citizens. They have adopted a home for seniors in Calcutta, and are building a home in Panvel and a geriatric hospital outside Bombay. Within the city they run community centres, i.e. clubs where they not only provide them few hours of social networking and entertainment but also involve them in art based therapies which prevents mental and physical ageing and reduces chances of diseases like dementia. This community centre is an attempt to make people above the age of 60 more self-reliant.
Apart from this the community centre plans to take them for outdoor excursion and nature walks. All these above aim to bring joy, happiness and boosting the self-esteem and dignity of the older person. This is a platform where senior citizens can pursue their hobbies. It offers various facilities like computer classes, table tennis, meditation, Yoga, Painting, Scrabble, Sudoku, etc
Reason for hire:
Adhata Trust is seeking to hire a dynamic and passionate individual as Chief Executive Officer, to translate this exciting concept in to a scalable and manageable project. The incumbent is expected to work with Mr. Nanda to develop and shape the vision and mission for the organization, manage its activities on a day to day basis, fuel its expansion plans and provide able leadership to the organisation. She/he will be required to build a strong member base for creating a networking platform for the senior citizens and young budding entrepreneurs. The position will be based in Mumbai / Delhi.
Responsibilities & Results:
Work with the Founder to develop and shape the vision and mission for the organization.
Deliver on the short and long term goals set for the organisation
Translate the concept in to a scalable and manageable projects
Expand and build a strong member base of successful professional senior citizen who are looking to mentor and help budding entrepreneurs through active reach out
Create member engagement programs including seminars, camps, workshops, hobby classes
Develop and build partnerships with Institutes / Colleges for the community centres
Essential Experience and Skills:
Post graduate degree preferable MBA from a reputed University / Institute.
Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a senior management role preferably with a Start-up accelerator / Private sector/ Not-forprofit entity
Prior experience of developing an organisation from scratch or translating an idea to projects
Ability to plan and organize events/community centres etc to keep members engaged with each other to make this a vibrant organisation.
Skilled in handling complex situations and ability to deal in a matured and diplomatic manner.
Somone coming with business acumen so as to be able to understand the not for profit space
